Winnie Dahlgren Group is comprised of members with different musical and cultural backgrounds.
It is exactly this difference which gives the band a sound that is uniquely its own.
   
Winnie Dahlgren, Vibraphone
Originally from Denmark, Winnie has a Masters Degree in classical percussion from the Vestjysk Conservatory in Esbjerg, Denmark, and a BA from Berklee College of Music, majoring in Jazz Composition and Performance. She has toured extensively in Europe, performing both in classical and jazz settings. Winnie has also been commissioned to write music for big bands as well as small ensembles ranging from jazz to world music.

Nina was born in Detroit, Michigan and began playing at age 7. She earned her bachelor of music degree from Western Michigan University where she studied classical piano performance. Upon graduation she moved to Boston to further her musical studies. She then spent 5 years in Chicago gaining invaluable experience gigging and playing sessions. In 1994 she was invited to live and play in Singapore with her trio and vocalist, Starlet El. Nina is an active perfromer, composer and teacher. Being a versatile musician has afforded her the opportunity to work in different settings with many great players which include guitarist Jim Robitaille, saxophonist Mark Turner, drummer Gerald Cleaver and master percussionist Jorge Najarro. She is a member of Robertico Arias' "Alebreke". She is currently recording her debut CD with bassist Chris Lopes, drummer Bertram Lehmann and percussionist Ernesto Diaz. Nina is on the faculty at Berklee College of Music.

Born in Suriname (South America), Daniel studied at Berklee College of Music, majoring in Arranging and Performance. Being an experienced performer in a variety of genres has made him a much sought after musician, both in the local and national scene. He is known for his ability to “drive” a rhythm section.
Harvey Wirht, Drums
Before coming to Boston, Harvey Wirht has played with Suriname's most leading bands and has done numerous recordings. He studied at the Berklee College of Music with Scholarships from the Suriname government, the Organization of American States, and from Berklee.He has received many reviews in different papers and magazines such as the Boston globe, Downbeat, the Chicago reader, and Cadence magazine. Some of the artists Harvey has worked with throughout his Berklee Years are Tiger Okoshi, Makanda Ken McIntyre (Blue Note and Prestige recording artist), Fareed Haque (Blue Note recording artist), George Garzone, Phil Wilson, and John Tchicai who has collaborated with John Coltrane, Arti Shep and Cecil Taylor. Wirht is currently playing with The Either Orchestra, Sunsteel, and the Jazz Composers Alliance.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Eguie Castrillo is an accomplished percussionist who has toured extensively around the world. Performances with Tito Puente, Arturo Sandoval, Steve Winwood, Michael Brecker, Ruben Blades, Paquito D' Rivera, Michel Camilo, KC and the Sunshine Band, Dave Valentin, Giovanni Hidalgo, and Jennifer Lopez. Recordings include Hot House,with Arturo Sandoval, The Latin Train, with Arturo Sandoval, sound track The Perez Family, for MGM, Get Down Live!, with KC and the Sunshine Band, and A GRP Celebration of the Songs of the Beatles. Currently an associate Professor at Berklee College of Music. Eguie Castrillo is endorsed by Toca Percussion.
